Title: Senior lecturer

I am a senior lecturer in the department of pediatric and child health of Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS) and also work practicing pediatrician in the newborn unit at Muhimbili National hospital (MNH) a teaching hospital for MUHAS.  For the past 13 years of my work my work involves providing clinical care, teaching and research with a special focus and dedication to newborn care.  Other aspects of my practice include care of HIV infected children and prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV.  I hold an MD and Mmed degrees form University of Dar es Salaam, Tanzania,an MPH degree (majoring in health policy and clinical evaluation) from Dartmouth medical school and  a PhD in medical sciences from Karolinska Institutet. My training and practice has broadened my expertise in clinical care, research and public health aspects of HIV, maternal and newborn care.
