ALERT – Action Leveraging Evidence to reduce perinatal Mortality and morbidity in Sub-Saharan Africa

Claudia Hanson is the PI of ALERT. She is a senior lecturer at Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden and also holds in an Associate Professorship in epidemiology and maternal health at London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). Claudia is trained as a medical doctor, with a specialisation in Gynaecology and Obstetrics, and has a MSc and a PhD in epidemiology from LSHTM. My main interest lies in health systems research including measurement issues, health planning and care organisation. Claudia has been leading large-scale evaluations such as cluster-randomised trials and data collection based on household surveys and facility-based records.
